Nowadays there is a lot of restaurant outlets that is serving chicken wings around Metro there is Chicken Charlie, Bonchon Chicken, Sunrise Bucket, Charlies Grind and Grill and more, so far these are all the store that I've been and I've tasted.

lately I find myself addicted to chicken wings, to tell you the truth as I write this article I am having a soy garlic chicken wing at chicken charlie, want some? so good and delicious, its crunchiness, freshness and tasteful chicken meat... *yumyum*...

Anyway as I was saying, lately I find myself addicted to chicken wings, been eating chicken wing almost every weekend(good thing that i didn't grow wings, hehehe). here are some of my observation from the four different outlets

let me first talk about chicken charlie because I'm at chicken charlie.

What I like most at Chicken Charlie is their soy garlic chicken. well maybe I don't eat spicy food so I don't dare myself to try the spicy sweet chicken wings. Well I can say that their Chicken now is more tastier compared to the first time I visited chicken charlie way back then when their branch is still located at retiro quzon city, now you can even taste the flavor infuse in their chicken meat.

Nowadays children are different, they are the one who is in command and parents are the one who will follow them. it sounds weird. right? Yes, it is weird. This is not how my parents raise me up, they taught me how to respect them as what the word of the Lord teaches us. our parents is our strength when we are weak, our parents guide us in all our activity. Just like God our Father who is always on our side in all the trails we encounter.

To all the fathers out there I would say thank you for without you we wont be here, and we wont be for who we are now. Thank you for being our role model, for guiding us from all aspect, teaching us how to walk, teaching us how to drive, being the handyman in our home and teaching us how to be like one.

Tokyo (CNN) -- An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit northern Japan, triggering tsunamis and sending a massive body of water filled with debris that included boats and houses inching toward highways.

The epicenter was 373 kilometers (231 miles) away from the capital, Tokyo, the United States Geological Survey said. But residents there felt the tremors.

The quake rattled buildings and toppled cars off bridges and into waters underneath. Waves of debris flowed like lava across farmland, pushing boats, houses and trailers toward highways.

The Philippines, being considered as the most disaster prone country in the world has learned to cope up with the situation by setting up rescue and EMS groups in their locality to provide immediate life saving interventions. In Metro Manila, this is very evident with the prolification of Barangay-based rescue teams, various civic communications groups and volunteer fire brigades. Inspite of this, these groups have limited sources of life saving information and formal training. Although a number of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) already are serving their respective EMS and rescue groups in the metropolis, a formal training for First Responders would complement the efforts of various institutions in providing trainings for the enhancement of would be emergency service providers.

The Fire Emergency Paramedic Assistance Group (F.E.P.A.G.), a volunteer fire EMS and rescue group once again open its invitation to various civic organizations and communication groups for the fourteenth consecutive year to join the First Responders Training Program to be held on the 2nd floor Multi-purpose Hall Manila Doctors College (Pres. I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe Minute Maid is choosing the best oranges and they produce freshly squeeze minute maid daily to maintain its freshness and its quality.

I wanted a CLEAN, cozy and cold room every time I would end each tiring tour for me to relax and rest. But this time I never thought (not in my wildest dream) that I will be this very disappointed in a hotel, never came across my mind to experience such unpleasant stay.

As we settle our thing in our room, checking out some facilities in the room and taking picture of the room (as I always do every time I enter my hotel room).

This is what I encounter in the room of RESIDENCE INN Resort and Mini Zoo in Tagaytay (FYI we just check-in)

1. RED Ants all over the room - I followed their track to know where the ants came from, shockingly I found out that they are present 360 degree in the room walls and ceiling, seat cover and table and worst of all its EVEN IN THE BED!!!!

2. Spiders – Spotted 3 spiders in the ceiling, I have no idea if there are still other spiders inside the room but there are a lot of spider webs as well.

3. Cockroach – I hate seeing Cockroach, Having a Cockroach in a room only means that a place is NOT CLEAN.

4. Stains – I saw stain marks in the Sofa, chair cushions and in the pillow case PLUS a bonus of hair strand.

5. Refrigerator – The shelves are already rusty and unpleasant smell once opened.

     6. TV – They have a cable TV….. with only 2 local channels.

     7. Lights – Insufficient lighting in the room even in the restroom PLUS some busted light bulbs which makes the room dark.

     8. Door Lock – What’s the purpose of having a lock when it is broken???

Well I guess their room is part of the zoo, as you check-in in this hotel you’ll have a free admission in their zoo, not knowingly that even the room is part of the attraction.

New Recommendations For The Way CPR Is Performed

The American Heart Association announced today new recommendations for the way CPR is performed. The small change could make a big difference in the lives of people suffering from cardiac arrest, the organization says.

For nearly 40 years, CPR guidelines have trained people to follow these simple A-B-C instructions—tilt the victim's head back to open the airway, then pinch their nose and do a succession of breaths into their mouth, and finally perform chest compressions.

But now, the AHA says starting with the C of chest compressions will help oxygen-rich blood circulate throughout the body sooner, which is critical for people who have had a heart attack. With this shift, rescuers and responding emergency personnel should now follow a C-A-B process—begin with chest compression, then move on to address the airway and breaths. This change applies to adults, children, and babies, but does not apply to newborns.

The revision is a part of the 2010 emergency cardiovascular care report published by the AHA., an organization that reviews its guidelines every five years, taking into account new science and literature. Although the changed procedure will take some time to reach what Monica Kleinman, the vice chair of the AHA's Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee, calls "front-line people", there is a plan in place to implement the recommendations as soon as possible to their training network, medical staffs, and first-responders.

"The sooner chest compressions are started, the more likely there will be a better outcome," Kleinman announced. "Studies performed in labs as well as large-population studies have shown that people do better if they get chest compressions within four minutes."

That four minutes is the amount of time it could take for emergency crews to rapidly respond, Chicago firefighter and CPR instructor Kelly Burns notes. Until then, he stresses that any CPR bystanders perform can make a difference.

"Early activation is critical," Burns says, especially in cities where traffic and walk-up buildings can slow even the fastest respondents during a trauma where every minute counts.

Despite changing guidelines, outdated training, or any confusion in the moment, Burns says that no one who tries CPR is faltering.

"People are reluctant to jump in and help, especially if the person is not a family member or friend," Burns observes on a weekly basis. "The only mistake a civilian can make in these situations is waiting and not doing anything at all."

To that end, the new AHA guidelines are meant to help anyone who encounters this kind of emergency—the idea being, if they know better, they will do better.

When it comes down to sharing good hygiene practices, children – the segment of society so often the most energetic, enthusiastic and open to new ideas – can act as agents of change by taking the “hand washing lessons” learned at school back into their homes and communities. The active participation and involvement of children – ideally situated at the intersection of the home, school, and community – can ensure sustained behavioral change when combined with culturally sensitive community-based interventions. Global Handwashing Day aims at motivating children to embrace and share proper hand washing practices, and place them as “handwashing ambassadors” at the heart of each country’s national and local initiatives.

PLDT SME Nation carefully selected these twelve Pinoy bossings so that their success stories can become sources of encouragement for Filipino entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs. By sharing their stories, these Pinoy bossings would be providing examples and insights that may help SMEs (small-to-medium scale entrepreneurs) become successful as well.

The Bossing

Benjamin Liuson of The Generics Pharmacy. Benjamin Liuson is growing The Generics Pharmacy (TGP) at a phenomenal rate. The Generics Pharmacy has expanded its network from a single main outlet into 840 branches—all in a span of three years. In contrast, it’s biggest competitor took 65 years to establish its 700 branches. Liuson credits franchising as a crucial growth driver of his business—but he also says that TGP is successful because it serves a basic need of Filipinos: quality, effective and affordable medicines. Incredibly, the Philippines has the highest cost of medicines in Asia, second only to Japan. TGP sells medicines for as low as 25% to even 10% of the retail price in regular drug stores. For example, a tablet of paracetamol costs P0.60 at TGP while the same costs P3 at other drug stores. Liuson considers his business an advocacy as well. “Medicines and health care are a basic right, not a privilege, of Filipinos. By offering low-priced, yet effective medicines, TGP is contributing to the health of Filipino families and the entire nation,” says Liuson.

Darius and Carlo Hizon of Pampanga’s Best. Their tocino processing business started 39 years ago as a cottage industry set up by their mom Lolita Hizon. Brothers Darius and Carlos helped grow it from a backyard business into a 9.5 hectare, world-class, ISO-certified meat processing facility. Through it all, Pampanga’s Best retains the delicious taste and excellent quality that makes it a favorite in Filipino households—in the country or even abroad.

Gardy Cruz of Pansit Malabon Express. Pancit is a staple Pinoy dish. It’s everywhere! So how do you make it a successful business with so may others making the same product? Gardy Cruz already had a home-cooked pancit recipe that has been the basis of a successful family business for 100 years—so what he did was introduce a new concept of bringing it to the customer. He served his delicious pancit, fresh and hot and fast, on food carts—hence the term “express”. Before Cruz came up with his revolutionary idea, you could only get delicious, hot pancit at a good restaurant. Cruz came up with a way to make his pancit a fastfood item—without sacrificing freshness, taste and quality. Pansit Malabon Express began in year 2000 and it now has 56 branches all over the country—and it’s still growing.

Jay Aldeguer of Island Souvenirs. He’s the main man of Island Souvenirs, a tourism themed shop that he founded in 1992. Island Souvenirs clicked mainly because the look and quality of its products stood out from the competition: while other souvenir shops featured ethnic-looking, earthy tribal designs (the sort that inspired the sound of tribal drumbeats in one’s head), Aldeguer chose to portray the Philippines as a sunny, tropical, cheerful country. He splashed his shop and products with the kaleidoscope colors of the Pinoy fiesta, the verdant greens of the tropics, sea-blues, and bright, sunshine yellows and oranges. The result: a 300 percent profit margin after just one year. Island Souvenirs is still going strong and Aldeguer has added even more business ventures.

Joey Concepcion of Joey Pepperoni and Founding Trustee of Go Negosyo. Coming from a family of successful entrepreneurs, one might think that Joey Concepcion had it easy. On the contrary, Concepcion says he didn’t even get any allowance as a student. He says his father wanted him to learn to make his own money at an early age so he could get what he wanted. Even though Concepcion is already President and CEO of RFM Foods Corporation, he still gets inspired to set up small businesses. One of these is Joey Pepperoni, a pizza chain. “I enjoy building brands. I thought of Joey Pepperoni as something that I could set-up and later pass on to my kids, if they want it,” he says. Concepcion is also one of the founders of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, which created the brand “GoNegosyo” as the name for a movement that they have started. This movement aims to help more Filipinos become entrepreneurs and turn the Philippines into a nation of millionaires.

Les Reyes of Reyes HairCutters. He made his fortune setting up a chain of salons. Reyes started Reyes HairCutters in 2001 and quickly grew the business as a franchise. His secret? Offering quality, branded products and expert services at affordable prices. He tapped the lower-income market, which at the time could only dream of expensive salon services, or make do with cheap salons that did more harm than good. Today, Reyes HairCutters has 200 branches in the Philippines, one outlet in the U.K. and will open other branches abroad. Business has been so good that Reyes HairCutters has now cut across income levels, expanding up to the higher-income markets and positioning itself as a Family Salon and the Salon ng Bayan.

Louie and Dulzzi Gutierrez of Silverworks. Creativity, passion, inventiveness and business savvy combine to make Silverworks the leading silver fashion accessories manufacturer and retailer in the Philippines. Siblings Louie and Dulzzi Gutierrez come from a family of jewelers—but they decided to offer, way back in 1994, an alternative to the more expensive gold jewelry and accessories. The idea was a hit: silver jewelry became a more affordable and more standout choice for young people who did not have enough money to buy gold. Silverworks maintains its competitive edge through designs that range from the stylish and chic, to classic and even the edgy. Silverworks hit it big because it had time on its side—the mid-1990s being a period of recession, when people were looking for more affordable items. Louie and Dulzzi also say that getting proper training and education—he’s a gemologist, she’s a fine arts graduate—helps a lot. They also form two aspects of the business, the creative side (Dulzzi) as well as the business side (Louie), and they combine their strengths well. Silverworks has recently introduced its Sexy Steel line of accessories.

“Mother” Lily and Roselle Monteverde of Regal Films. She loved movies ever since she was in elementary school—and would even cut classes just to watch movies. Lily Monteverde, or “Mother” as she is endearingly called, also had a knack for business at a young age: she sold rice cakes as a child. After she got married, she started a popcorn stall business. With her earnings, she produced her first movie in the 1970s. Today, she’s one of the most powerful figures in Philippine show business and a legend in the history of Filipino cinema. She has produced at least 300 films.

Raphael and Jenni Soon of North Park. You can really turn your passion into profit. North Park bossings Raphael and Jenni Soon love good food and this inspired them to set up their own Chinese cuisine themed restaurant in 1994. North Park stood out from the competition with its modern look, pristine yet tasteful interiors, offering a surprisingly wide range of delicious noodles and dimsum treats. It captured the middle to high-end markets with its quality dishes at surprisingly affordable prices. Before North Park came along, one either went to a gourmet-level Chinese restaurant, or hole-in-the-wall eateries in Chinatown to enjoy good Chinese food. North Park brought good quality and affordable pricing that’s still a hit with its diners. There are now 16 North Park branches.

Ronald Pineda of Folded & Hung. This bossing would have been a dentist if he didn’t get into the clothing and fashion business. Pineda is a licensed dentist but his passion for selling, clothing and fashion spurred him to establish Folded & Hung or F&H. Pineda’s store has a solid reputation for being trendy and chic in its choice of apparel, accessories and perfumes—if you’re a middle-class fashion newbie or even an upper-class fashion maven who finds the prices of foreign brands outrageous, then F&H offers what you need. “I got this from F&H” is now part of fashion speak and makes a legit statement fashion-wise. F&H now has 35 outlets in the biggest malls across the Philippines. Pineda says the secret to succeeding in the apparel and accessories business is to be constantly creative and inventive. “The only way to predict the future is to invent it,” says Pineda.

Vicki Belo and Cristalle Henares of Belo Medical Group and Belo Essentials. Simply put, there would be no beauty industry in the Philippines without Vicki Belo. Vicki Belo introduced revolutionary methods in liposuction and other cosmetic surgeries and treatments as she focused her practice into the beauty aspects of dermatology—in contrast to other doctors who focus on the clinical side. There are now seven Belo clinics in Manila. Belo says her dream is “to make everybody beautiful” because it is a great equalizer. “Beautiful people have an unfair advantage over those who are average-looking,” she says. Belo took this mission to another level by introducing Belo Essentials, a collection that brings beauty products and treatments to a more mass market—giving even maids the chance to experience “beauty by Belo.” Belo now has an able partner in her daughter Cristalle, who helps in developing the Belo Essentials line.

What ASAP Means To You?

For most English-speaking people, the acronym ASAP means “As Soon As Possible” or immediately. But for the Christian it can also mean, “Always Say A Prayer.”

King Hezekiah was one of Judah’s best kings. He restored the worship of God to his nation after his father Ahaz’s evil reign (2 Kings 18:3-4). Yet when the Assyrian king attacked Judah, Hezekiah capitulated to the king and stripped off the gold from the temple in Jerusalem to placate him (vv.13-16).

That did not satisfy the Assyrian king, however, who returned to issue another threat. It was then that Hezekiah turned to the Lord. He prayed, “You are God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. . . . Save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are the Lord God, You alone” (19:15-19). When Hezekiah prayed, God answered him in a remarkable way and delivered him from his enemies (vv.35-37).

You may be facing a problem that leaves you feeling helpless. It may be the loss of a job, a difficult family or work situation, or health struggles. We have a powerful God to whom we can bring our concerns. So before you do anything else, remember to ASAP—Always Say A Prayer.

Since we will be changing our habit in the way we vote (from manual to automated election). here are some information on how to vote this May 2010. just one more month before the May 2010 Election.

HOW TO ACCOMPLISH THE BALLOT
Pursuant to Section 35 of Resolution No. 8739

1. The voter shall, using a ballot secrecy folder and the marking pen provided by the COMELEC, fill his/her ballot by fully shading the oval beside the names of the candidates and political party participating in the party list system of representation of his choice..

2. The voter shall then approach the PC0S;insert his ballot in the ballot entry slot and wait until the ballot is dropped into the ballot box. The BEI shall monitor the PCOS screen to make sure that the ballot was successfully accepted. Thereafter, the voter shall return the ballot secrecy folder and marking pen to the chairman. .

3. The chairman shall apply indelible ink at the base and extending to the cuticle of the right forefinger nail of the voter, or any other nail if there be no forefinger nail..

4. The voter shall affix his thumbmark on the corresponding space in the EDCVL. .

5. The voter shall then leave the polling place.

Getting Ready For My First Marathon

"Globe-Ayala Run For Home" will be the first fun run I will attend, quite excited... I registered for the 5k run......so I've been searching and reading tips on how to get ready for my first marathon

These tips will help you prepare and go the distance for a marathon or any long-distance running event.

Condition your body
To avoid muscle pain or serious injuries, keep yourself in top physical condition. Stretch out and exercise regularly. Do short sprints around the neighborhood, and extend your run to longer distances. By the marathon's date, you'll be fit enough to finish the race.
Get the right gear
Running shoes and clothes are more than just for looking good. They not only keep you comfortable, but also protect you from harsh elements. Here are some suggestions when looking for the proper gear:

• Running shoes provide support and comfort during the run. Try to buy the best running shoes you can afford. Good running shoes have adequate cushioning, a good fit, and are made of sturdy materials.

• Layers. Singlets, shorts, and running tights do more than just identify you on the race course. Lightweight, breathable fabrics wick away moisture from the body, and keep you cool and comfortable as you run.

• Hydration. Sports drinks or water should always be on hand to keep your body cool. Keep them on hand with a hydration belt.

• Sunscreen and accessories. Sunblock and sunscreen help protect you from ultraviolet rays. Sunglasses keep the glare out of the road, giving you a clearer view of the course. If you have long hair, wear a cap or a headband to wick away sweat that may get into your eyes.

Watch what you eat
Carbohydrates are a great source of energy that you need for a marathon, and protein helps build the muscles needed to withstand the race. Avoid junk food and empty calories. Energy bars and protein shakes can also help satisfy your sugar cravings.

Stretch and cool down
Treat a marathon as a vigorous exercise. To prevent unnecessary injuries, stretch before the run, and cool down after.

Get yourself involved in the community
Many clubs and organizations help novices and beginners get started in the sport. You can learn a lot from veterans of distance running, as well as form new friendships on the track.

Enjoy
Marathons keep your body fit, test your limits, and help you enjoy the fine art of running. With these tips, you can make it your quest to go the distance in more races to come.

Fil-Chi Businessman kidnapped in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines—A Chinese-Filipino man was abducted in broad daylight in Quezon City Tuesday by still unidentified men wearing T-shirts with “Police” marks, police said on Wednesday.

Reports reaching Camp Crame from Metro Manila police said the victim, Jonathan Chua of Cycle Mass Marketing , was abducted near the corner of Judge Juan Luna and De Jesus Streets in Barangay Bungad shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Chua was abducted by four armed men wearing black shirts with “Police” printed on them.Chua was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer (with plate number WTH 188) on his way to work, when the suspects, on board a dark-colored vehicle (with plate number ZMC 216), blocked the victim’s path.

Police said that initial verification made with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) revealed that the plate number of the getaway vehicle was registered to another vehicle (registered in 2008 to an Isuzu car).

February 19, 1942, was a fascinating day for Canada. It was “If Day”—a World War II staging of a fake Nazi invasion of Winnipeg, Manitoba. The intent was to show what it would be like “if” Canada fell under the harsh occupation of Nazi forces, and so that Canadians would support the war effort more fully (a campaign of the federal government to raise $600,000,000 in Victory bonds to fund the war effort).

Participation in the event was excellent. Both the active and reserve forces, as well as numerous volunteer organizations, were involved in making If Day as realistic as possible. Col. D. S. McKay was the commander of the “defence” forces. RCAF planes were used as Nazi dive-bombers. Trucks, anti-aircraft guns and other military equipment were used during If Day.

"If Day" was conceived and organized by the Greater Winnipeg Victory Loan organization, which was led by prominent Winnipeg businessman J. D. Perrin as Chairman.

First Responder Training Program Batch 13

First Responder are part of the EMS system, responding to emergencies, usually arriving first on the scene, providing initial care for patients and working with other care providers to assess, make care decisions and transport. In all cases, a First Responder may be a law enforcement officer, firefighters, industry workers or private citizens who arrives first at the scene, thus they should be well trained and has successfully completed a First Responders Course. First Responders should be able to reach their patients in less than ten minutes from the onset of the emergency. This quick response and the quality care rendered can save thousands of lives!

The Fire Emergency Paramedic Assistance Group (F.E.P.A.G.), a volunteer fire EMS and rescue group initiated the First Responders Training to various volunteer fire brigades which then led to the formation of formal EMS system. For the 13th consecutive year, the F.E.P.A.G. First Responders Course will accept participants from various civic organizations and communication groups.

Training course covering
a. wider topics on Soft-tissue injuries,
b. Muscolo-skeletal injuries,
c. Emergency childbirth,
d. Advance airway management,
e. Incident Command System and,
f. Patient Assessment.

56 Hours Course. Certificates will be given upon completion.
(Batch 13 of the First Responders Training Program will be offered in April of 2010, if participant has an active/valid BLS certificate from FEPAG or from other agencies, he/she needs to attach a photocopy of the Certificate of Completion with the registration form. Basic Life Support (BLS) is a level of medical care which is used for patients with life-threatening illness or injury until the patient can be given full medical care. It can be provided by trained medical personnel, including Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), and by laypersons who have received BLS training. BLS is generally used in the pre-hospital setting, and can be provided without medical equipment.

Training course covering the topics on

a. FBAO(Foreign Body Airway Obstruction)

b. Rescue Breathing ,and

c. Cardio-Pulmonary-Cerebral Resuscitation.

16 Hours Course. Certificates will be given upon completion.

"Learn to do something when somebody is choking, stops breathing or his/her heart stops beating."

This years training will be held on March 6 and 7, 2010 at the Hospital of The Infant Jesus Auditorium, located at Lacson Cor. Laong Laan St. Samplaoc Manila from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Training Fee is 500 pesos.

Handled by highly qualified instructors, the 16 hours is divided into 8 hours of lecture and demo, and 8-hours of examinations and return demos by the participants. The said training is also a pre-requisite for the First Responder Training Program.

2010 Feast Of The Black Nazarene

The feast of the Black Nazarene held every January 9 is considered one of the most spectacular religious events that take place in the Philippine history.

The procession begins and the statue in its gilded carriage moves slowly as honored participants dressed in maroon pull the carriage along ropes. during the feast millions devotees from all walks of life come to the district of Quiapo to join the annual procession. Walking barefoot during the procession is seen as a sign of humility.

The statue was brought to Manila by a Spanish priest in 1607 aboard a ship. The ship caught fire, burning the image and thus came to be known as the Black Nazarene. Though the image was burnt, the people decided to preserve and honor it. Since then, miraculous things have been reported to those who touch the image.

A few dozen people pass out and must be taken away by ambulance. And there is at least a small risk of being trampled yearly.

Parent-child bonding is the most important part of a child’s life. Studies reveal that a firm bond between parent and child offers long-term benefits that can positively affect a child’s adult life. Emotional and physical attachment developed from quality bonding with parents allows children to thrive in the world.

Parents nowadays are too busy with their works that they sometimes neglect the responsibility of a parent (Thinking that they are doing everything for the future of their children) Yes, Indeed working is important, in this way parents can provide a shelter for the his/her family, to be able to provide good education for their children, to be able to provide something to eat and other basic necessities, and in case one of the family member got sick they’ll be able to purchase medicine, go to a doctor for a check-up and in a worst case scenario they’ll be able to pay for the hospital bills.

But nonetheless parents should not pay no attention to the most important role of being a REAL parent, the responsibility of being there for their children especially in time when they are needed most by their children.

Even in the simplest things such as

1. School requested a parent to go to school; they send the brother/sister as a proxy.

2. Attending to the graduation; they’ll say “sorry I can’t attend I have an important meeting to attend; I’ll make it up next time”.

3. Answering a silly question (which sometimes is the most very important one that a child needed to know); they’ll say I’m too busy/tired for such silly question.

4. They neglect to congratulate or commend they child for job well done, or for getting a good performance/Grade in school but instead scolding them for not passing their quiz, for not doing their assignments.

5. And worst of all they are not there to give advice, listen and comfort their child in the midst of lonesome. They neglect the importance of bonding with their children.

I remember a story I heard somewhere.

“A son asked his dad if how much he earns for an hour. $20 dad answered. Son asked his dad if he can ask for $10?

The father got mad, saying I am working hard to earn for your future and you’re asking for $10 just like that so you could spend it in toys and candies!!! Go to your room and sleep already.

After the father calmed down and realizing that he was too harsh to his son and thought that maybe he really needed something , he went to his son’s room and apologized. At the same time, he gave the $10.

The son smiled and start collecting all the money he has under his pillow and counted it. The Father got mad once again saying, “you have money and why are you asking for more?”

The son replied. “My money isn’t enough. I needed $20 for me to be able to purchase one hour of your time, dad.”

5 Typhoons Devastates 1 Country

It’s been a month since Typhoon “Ketsana” (Ondoy) Hit Philippines. No one thought that this typhoon would bring such damage to the Philippines; Metro Manila was placed under state of calamity due to flood in several areas that never happened in 40 years time and huge amount of death tolls. After Ketsana, here comes Typhoon “Parma” (Pepeng) that hit the Northern part of Luzon. It stayed for several days in the Northern Philippines, which also cause floods and several death tolls. Philippines had not yet recover from the damages brought by the past two typhoons, and here come another threat Typhoon “Melor” (Quedan), which we thank the Lord it didn’t hit the Philippines. The same goes with Typhoon “Lupit” (Ramil).Yet another Typhoon Hits the Philippines which the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) declare Metro Manila under Signal Number 3 due to the strong winds brought by Typhoon “Mirinae” (Santi).

I’ve been busy helping out with the repacking and distribution of relief good organized by the Filipino-Chinese Fire Rescue Volunteers in cooperation with Philippine Institute of Quezon City (PIQC), Philippine Institute of Quezon City Alumni Association (PIQCAA) and Philippine Chi Liam Tong Foundation.

Her son Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III confirmed that she died of cardio-respiratory arrest at exactly 3:18 a.m. Saturday at the Makati Medical Center.

Mrs. Aquino has been diagnosed with colon cancer early in 2008 and has been confined at the Makati Medical Center for more than a month.

Mrs. Aquino, widow of Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., will be remembered as an icon of democracy, having led a military-backed popular revolt in 1986 that ousted a dictator who ruled the country for 20 years.

At about 5 a.m. outside the hospital, Noynoy read a statement announcing the death of his mother.

The statement read:

"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m., August 1, 2009, of cardio-respiratory arrest.

“She would have wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and your continued love and support. It was her wish for all of us to pray for one another and for our country.

“Hinihiling po ng aming pamilya ang kaunting panahon para makasama namin ang aming mahal na ina.

“Later today, we will be announcing further details of her wake para sa lahat ng ating mga minamahal na kababayan na nais magbigay ng respeto sa aming ina. Maraming salamat po.”
