MANILA, Philippines—A Chinese-Filipino man was abducted in broad daylight in Quezon City Tuesday by still unidentified men wearing T-shirts with “Police” marks, police said on Wednesday.
Reports reaching Camp Crame from Metro Manila police said the victim, Jonathan Chua of Cycle Mass Marketing , was abducted near the corner of Judge Juan Luna and De Jesus Streets in Barangay Bungad shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Chua was abducted by four armed men wearing black shirts with “Police” printed on them.Chua was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer (with plate number WTH 188) on his way to work, when the suspects, on board a dark-colored vehicle (with plate number ZMC 216), blocked the victim’s path.
Police said that initial verification made with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) revealed that the plate number of the getaway vehicle was registered to another vehicle (registered in 2008 to an Isuzu car).
