First Responder are part of the EMS system, responding to emergencies, usually arriving first on the scene, providing initial care for patients and working with other care providers to assess, make care decisions and transport. In all cases, a First Responder may be a law enforcement officer, firefighters, industry workers or private citizens who arrives first at the scene, thus they should be well trained and has successfully completed a First Responders Course. First Responders should be able to reach their patients in less than ten minutes from the onset of the emergency. This quick response and the quality care rendered can save thousands of lives!
The Fire Emergency Paramedic Assistance Group (F.E.P.A.G.), a volunteer fire EMS and rescue group initiated the First Responders Training to various volunteer fire brigades which then led to the formation of formal EMS system. For the 13th consecutive year, the F.E.P.A.G. First Responders Course will accept participants from various civic organizations and communication groups.
Training course covering
a. wider topics on Soft-tissue injuries,
b. Muscolo-skeletal injuries,
c. Emergency childbirth,
d. Advance airway management,
e. Incident Command System and,
f. Patient Assessment.
56 Hours Course. Certificates will be given upon completion.
(Batch 13 of the First Responders Training Program will be offered in April of 2010, if participant has an active/valid BLS certificate from FEPAG or from other agencies, he/she needs to attach a photocopy of the Certificate of Completion with the registration form. Application for the FRTP batch 13 is now available from the website or from Station 54 cafe located at #77-C N. Roxas St. Q.C., all payments will be accepted at Station 54. Registration is on a first come-first serve basis, no reservations.)
