SM City North EDSA - The Sky Garden Tour

SM CityShoemart, now known all over the world as SM, started as a shoe store as my grandfather told all of us(when he was still alive) and he would tell me all kinds of stories about how it grew. LikeSky Dome a debutante, the small business is now a big and developed business boasting the complete line of products, services and amenities available.

Back then, there were very few malls around and this is one of the first because Mr. Henry Sy got this idea from the US and he thought that it can be applied here in the Philippines. Rather than be scared to put up a risky business because of the 1985 crisis, he still pushed through like any SM City North EDSAChinese would do and see a silver lining of opportunity.

I’ve been to far out SM branches even when I live here in Manila. I’ve been to SM Xiamen, Baguio and Naga just to name a few. Now, the mall they called SM North Edsa evolved to a humongous mall, being the third largest in the whole wide world!

The newest addition to SM North Edsa is the Sky Garden. It’s a hanging garden rich with lush greens, relaxing sight of water and 55 different kinds of specie of grass and flowers! It reminds me of the hanging garden in Babylon.

Eco-friendly are they! Their trash bins are color-coded so they could recycle easily. This is a practice we should adapt at home! They also are pushing their eco bags to reduce the use of plastics when we shop till we drop! Sky GardenSM North EDSA Sky Garden

Ahh! The Sky Dome – this is one of the newest events/concert/ gathering place here in Metro Manila which can fit 1,000 people! The stage is also movable, giving organizers a free room to move and change the appearance of the stage! What an incredible idea!

If you want to relax and bond with your family and friends, why not go there and take a walk? You would forget that you are in a mall here in Manila!

Influence of television to Childrens

I think that the Department of Education (DepEd) should also be part of the screening board, in screening the advertisements that is being aired in the television beside from the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

Researched shows that:

"The greater proportion of children performed sedentary activities. During weekdays, watching TV, and DVD was the usual activity after school. While on weekends, playing video games and watching TV three to four times were noted. " source FNRI

"Children are more vulnerable to the influence of television since they have more time on viewing TV programs than interacting with family members or doing other significant activities in school. More often children are left with the television alone without parental guidance even the show requires so." source PIA

according to the research, that most often activity of children is watching televisions thus not only affect their healthy lifestyle but also affect in the way they think.

is 2 greater than 1showing ads like this will just harm the children, this is not the first time that this kind of ads appear on a television.
Remember the ad of Tide??? stating that 2 is greater than 1, which will affects the Math skills of a child, and now airing on television is the ad of LBC which will now affect the spelling skills of a child.

Not only TV advertisements that affects the way a child thinks, also TV shows which some shows are using Tag-lish, incorrect Grammar and addition is greater than multiplication (1+1=2 : 1x1=1) ; thus affects the English grammar and Math skills of a Child.

The DOH is also not disclosing the airport where the patient arrived, and from what province, city or region the patient came from.

DOH officials have also said that President Arroyo is "very concerned" by this development.
Duque also said that contact tracing is already ongoing. The patient's family has been informed and has been asked to perform self-monitoring and quarantine.A(H1N1)

"The woman returned with her family who are also being monitored by health authorities," he added.

Duque however clarified that there is no A (H1N1) outbreak in the country and that the government is doing everything to prevent it.

Seven other people are under observation at different Philippine hospitals but laboratory tests have not been completed, the official said.

"We reiterate to the public that the government is on top of the situation and everyone is advised to be vigilant," Duque said.

Some 49 people who had been put under observation in government and private hospitals since May 1 after showing symptoms of the virus have since been discharged, health officials said

First case of H1N1 in the Philippines

Health Secretary Francisco Duque on Thursday evening announced the first case of influenza A (H1N1) in the Philippines.

Duque, who is currently at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva, said in a teleconference that a Filipina patient who came from a trip last May 18 tested positive for the A (H1N1) virus.

The ten-year-old girl, who is not yet identified, already showed symptoms - fever, cough, and sore throat - upon arrival in the country. She came from a trip to the United States and Canada.

He said that the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) got hold of tissue samples from the patient last May 20, and confirmed Thursday that she tested positive for the virus.
The patient is currently being treated at an undisclosed medical facility, Duque said.

He also said that contact tracing is already ongoing. The patient's family has been informed and has been asked to perform self-monitoring and quarantine.

2. The greatest work, as of an artist. Also called masterwork.
3. Something superlative of its kind: a masterpiece of political ingenuity.
